Advanced Tests - Headers

The header section gives you the ability to add a graphic for how to properly fill in bubbles, add a student ID region and create generic forms. On a generic form, students bubble in their ID number, which is then matched to a class when processing the filled in form images. Generic tests do not have class or test information printed on them, which means you can print one test answer sheet and then photocopy it. Note that before you process the tests, the students must be entered into the system so that the tests can be matched to the appropriate student. By default teachers do not have permission to add students to the system. This permission can be elevated by the administrator.

If desired, click the Edit Header button to customize any of the following options:

Show instructions on how to properly mark bubbles (image): Adds an image detailing the right and wrong way to fill in the bubbles and is used to offer guidance to test takers in order to reach optimal recognition.
Show student ID region: Adds a bubble-in student ID grid to the form so that you do not have to rely on pre-printing the students' names. You may want a bubble-in ID grid if you have a large class so that you don't have to hand the students their exact answer sheet. In this case, students write their names on the forms and bubble in their ID numbers. The Test, class and instructor are printed on the forms. You can print one test and answer sheet and photocopy it for distribution to the specific class and the specific test.
Generic form: If you are using a bubble-in student ID region, you can also create a generic form. Generic forms can be used for any class and any teacher, as no identifying information is printed on the forms. In this case, students write their names on the forms and bubble in their ID numbers. The teacher or the students can write in the Test, Class and Instructor names. You can print one test answer sheet and photocopy it for distribution to any other class for any test (you can photocopy single page tests, not multi-page tests). Note that by default, teachers do not have permissions to add students to the account. You must enter the students into the system before processing their tests. At that point the student ID number is matched to an existing student in the system. The system administrator can elevate teachers' permissions to allow entry of new students to the account if desired.

Note: If you are not using generic forms, you must use the printed bubbles sheets for the test within the class that you specified when creating the test.

Student ID Orientation: Choose whether the student ID bubble-in grid should be oriented horizontally or vertically on the form.
Student ID Length: Choose the maximum length for the student ID (no more than 15 digits are permitted).
